2009 MTV VMA Awards was held yesterday and Beyonce came home with the Video of the Year award, Lady Gaga won the Best New Artist Award while Taylor Swift took home the Best Female Video award. The event pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson. The event was not without any controversy as Kayne West took the mike when Taylor Swift went to the podium to accept the award.

New trailer movie for Astro Boy has been released. Astro Boy movie is based on a popular Japanese comic book is set to be released this Fall. The US movie version has Nicolas Cage, Charlize Theron, Kirsten Bell and Samuel Jackson as voice actors. While the Japanese version has Aya Ueto and Koji Yasusho as voice actors. The movie plot reminds me of Iron Men.

Worldwide Pop icon singer, Michael Jackson suffered cardiac arrest and was pronouced dead at Los Angeles hospital. According to sources, Jackson had the cardiac arrest at his Holmby Hills home and was already dead when the paramedics arrived at the scene.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the 2nd movie of the The Transformer series starring Shia LaBeouf, Megax Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and directed by Michael Bay. The movie makes their worldwide debut this Wednesday. In Asia, it debuts on June 24 for Australia, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand. For some reason, it already debut in Japan on June 20.

It was revealed that the primary reason to relocate to Singapore was for his daughters’ education. They are expected to attend Singapore American School.

Taylor Swift was a big winner in last night at the CMT Awards show in Nashville, Tennessee. The 19-year-old country and pop sensation won the Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for “Love Story.”

American Song writer and singer, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga is currently performing in Asia. She is currently in Tokyo to promote her debut album, “The Fame” in Japan. She told fans what she wanted to do in Japan most was “Eat tons of sushi!”

She will travel to Singapore next week for promotional tours and private concerts.

Gaga began her career as a songwriter for established artists, including Fergie, Pussycat Dolls,Britney Spears and New Kids on the Block, as well as American singer and producer Akon.

David Carradine found Dead in Thailand

US Actor, David Carradine, best known for his role in the 70’s Kung Fu TV series and more recently in the movie Kill Bill, was found dead in Bangkok, Thailand. News report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and believe to have committed suicide.

Carradine appeared in over 100 feature films and was nominated four times for Golden Globe Award.

Wow..another posting on Edison Chen. Just found out that Edison Chen will be doing an exclusive TV interview with CNN TV on June 3. Edison Chen talks at length to CNN’s Anjali Rao about the women (and there were many) involved in the photographs, why he took the images, the effect the scandal had on his health, his family and others.

Since the scandal broke out, Edison faced death threats forcing him to leave Hong Kong to live in USA, Canada and Singapore for the last 15 months. He admits not having spoken to any of the girls identified in the photos since the scandal broke. Cecilia Cheung accused Chen of being a hypocrite and a fraud who ignored her while the scandal unfolded.

In the film, which is based on an animated TV (Avatar) series about warring elements of Air, Water, Earth and Fire, Dev will essay the role of a character called Zuko. Supporting cast includes Cliff Curtis, Noicola Peltz, Noah Ringer, Seychelle Gabriel, Shaun Toub, Jessica Andres, Aasif Mandvi and Keong Sim.

South Korean actor, Lee Byung Hun, plays Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe. G.I. Joe will be released on August 7 and was based on a comic/cartoon series. G.I. Joe movie plot is about an elite military unit comprised of special operatives known as G.I. Joe, operating out of The Pit, takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.
