Murakami new book, 1Q84 Frenzy
Japanese writer, Haruki Murakami’s new book/novel, 1Q84, is a hit before the book is even released. Everything has been kept secret, except the author and title. Murakami, 60, is one of the most widely translated Japanese writers alive, with global best sellers such as “Norwegian Wood,” “Kafka on the Shore” and “The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.” He is considered a top Japanese candidate for the Nobel Prize in literature.
The book title, 1Q84 translates to 1984 as Q has the same sound as number 9 in Japanese. The book will go on sale Friday (5/29) with 480,000 copies in the first printing circulation.
