Naomi Kawase wins award at Cannes Film Festival

Japanese female director Naomi Kawase will receive the Carrosse d’Or (Golden Coach) prize at the 62th Cannes Film Festival. A new edited version of Kawase’s movie “Hotaru” will be screened earlier on the same day. The awards ceremony will be held on May 14. Twelve years ago, Kawase won the Camera d’Or at Cannes Film Festival for her first 35mm movie “Moe no Suzaku.”
